RPAC

What is RPAC?

By supporting the campaigns of candidates who understand your business, the REALTOR® Political Action Committee ensures that your interests are represented when laws, ordinances, and regulations are being enacted. Through voluntary monetary contributions of Realtors®, RPAC supports the campaigns of candidates whose outlooks, decisions, and stances are compatible with those of Realtors® and property owners.

This isn’t personal; this is business. When RPAC decides whether to contribute to candidates, the only consideration is how supportive they are on real estate issues property rights issues. As an organization that represents Realtors®, we don’t consider any other kinds of issues. Party affiliation doesn’t matter, either; RPAC funds have helped Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.

RPAC WORKS

From 2004 to 2014, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) raised more than $96 million dollars to support pro-REALTOR® Party candidates running for Congress. The amount of money RPAC spends to support candidates makes it one of the top trade association PACs in the nation. RPAC is the only political group in the country organized for REALTORS® and run by REALTORS®. REALTORS® are a key part of the American Dream: property ownership. However, REALTORS® are increasingly facing forces from many directions that threaten their ability to help bring about the American dream for more people. Increasing health care premiums, the economy, property tax burdens, rent controls, impact fees and the taking of private property for the public domain are only a quick handful of issues that somewhere, everyday REALTORS® confront.

RPAC SUPPORTS THE REALTOR® PARTY

RPAC’s mission is to identify candidates for elected office on the local, state and national levels who will work with REALTORS® to promote and protect the American Dream of property ownership. Candidates who receive support from RPAC are not selected based on their political party or ideology, but solely on their support of real estate issues. Our legislative allies are members of the REALTOR® Party. The REALTOR® Party supports the issues that are important to you as a REALTOR®, regardless of political party affiliation.

REALTORS® must be politically active. If REALTORS® do not speak out, get involved and help shape the discussion, someone else will. No one knows a community better than a REALTOR®. REALTORS® know the lay of the land, the families, the best schools, the neighborhoods and the leaders of any given area. REALTORS® work in every city, county and community in the nation. REALTORS® are on the front line as defenders of real estate issues.
